With the objective of improving patient safety and
supply chain efficiencies in healthcare, twelve
leading healthcare organisations including CH2
have collaborated with GS1 to pilot and roll out GS1
systems and standards.

GS1 Australia is the only official GS1 organisation in Australia licensed to
administer the GS1 System including GS1 (EAN-UPC) Barcodes.

The Monash Pharmacy Project Phase Two Report was released at the Fifth International
Conference on Supply Chain Management and Information Systems in December 2007.

This pilot clearly demonstrates the benefits of supply chain efficiencies as well as the
necessity to continue to improve standards and technologies.
